robyn.
my first time in the kitchen:
the very first time my parents left me at home to babysit my sister I got inspired, flipped through one of my mom's cookbooks and decided on the "saucy seasoned sole." my parents were more than a little surprise to come home to their 12 year old having cooked a full, fancy meal, and i had discovered that this cooking stuff was kinda okay
favourite thing to make:
bread - I love kneading it. It's like a moving meditation.
favourite thing to eat:
I am loving any roasted root vegetable lately. and dark chocolate mousse.
perfect day:
Waking up to sunshine, taking Tanah for a walk on the beach, dancing myself into my wetsuit and heading out for a morning surf in Tofino. Warm up after prying myself out of the ocean with the promise of an amazing cup of coffee. Bake fresh muffins and cook a big breakfast to share with friends over more coffee (perhaps with some baileys added?). Explore and play outside all day long until it's time to get back in the kitchen with some good friends and make dinner to enjoy with some yummy wine. Fall into bed with a full belly and a happy heart.
I am a yoga teacher and a co-owner of Yoga Spirit in Burnaby, BC. I am also a 2nd year student at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and a full-time procrastinator.
